FMR 11 pays tribute to the world of women, with articles about female artists and creatives (Élisabeth Chaplin, Julia Morgan, Sofonisba Anguissola, Remedios Varo) as well as patrons of the arts (Elisabetth Farnese) or creations meant to complement women’s physical presence (garments by Dolce & Gabbana and jewelry by René Lalique). Opening the issue is a piece by Strega laureate Tiziano Scarpa honoring the Bertozzi & Casoni exhibit at the Masone Labyrinth; in the section on auctions, Simone Facchinetti discusses recent high prices paid for paintings by Lavinia Fontana.
